Nearly two weeks have passed since Will Smith infamously slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Academy Awards, but the moment will remain iconic forever.

The incident happened last Sunday evening as Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's alopecia, causing a furious reaction from Smith.

The actor stood up, walked on stage and slapped Rock, before returning to his seat and shouting at him. Now, that moment has become a popular tattoo.

Media across the world have already reported on people asking tattoo artists for the moment to be inked onto them.

"I thought, let's do it, it's hilarious. It's quite small and discreet - if it wasn't I probably wouldn't have done it," one tattoo artist in the United Kingdom said.

"It's a weird, interesting and crazy thing - I don't think there's a right or wrong side, it's just an interesting thing some celebrities have done."

Another, Oscar Aguilar Jr, shared a video of a similar tattoo on a client in New Jersey, in the United States.

In Italy, artist Giovanni Bracciodieta posted a picture of another tattoo of the moment on Instagram alongside an anti-violence message.
