which the BBC have just added to with a social media post that teases the return of Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor to the series.

With Jodie Whittaker’s time in the TARDIS coming to an end, the reins of the longest running sci-fi show in TV history

being passed from current show-runner Chris Chibnall to returning hero Russel T Davies, who oversaw the show’s revival in 2005. 

Davies’ re-appointment has been met with rapturous praise from fans and a gamut of announcements about the return of previous cast members, along with the introduction of new ones.

Perhaps the most important announcement has been the casting of Sex Education’s Ncuti Gatwa as the fourteenth Doctor,

along with the news that both David Tennant and Catherine Tate will be reprising their roles of the tenth Doctor and Donna Noble for the 60th anniversary special next year.

All in all, the return of Davies, Tennant and Tate couldn’t be more hyped up and the little hints that he keeps dropping are doing nothing to slow the rumor mill about further reunions.

The future of Doctor Who is therefore not only bright because there’s a classic anniversary special on the way
