Malia White made her mark as the first female bosun on Below Deck Mediterranean, and she recently revealed why she won’t be returning for season 7.
Fans first saw Malia as a green deckhand in Below Deck Med season 2. Malia’s first season was a bit controversial.
Both Bosun Wesley and Chef Adam Glick were interested in her romantically. However, she gravitated more towards Wesley, who was impressed by her work ethic and made her the lead deckhand.
Later, it was revealed that Malia and Adam had met prior to being on Below Deck Med and had a brief fling, despite acting like they had just met on the boat.
After Below Deck Med season 2, Malia took a break from the show and came back for season 5 as a bosun. As a woman with an all-male deck team, Malia had to prove herself as a leader.
Much to her annoyance, deckhand Peter Hunziker kept calling her “sweetie,” which she had to call him out for.
The bosun teased an even more interesting second season, where she will talk with people working in all aspects of the yachting industry.
While Malia may not be heaving lines in Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, the bosun is still keeping busy with her other endeavors.
