The annual Earth Day Celebration at Genoa Park will be held Saturday, April 23, from noon to 7 p.m. Organized by the nonprofit Green Columbus 

The Ohio History Center, 800 East 17th Ave., is holding an event on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 pm. titled Seeds of Caring’s Kids as Planet Protectors: An Earth Day Celebration.  

Green Columbus has published an online list of dozens of volunteer opportunities including cleanups and planting sessions that are being held throughout Columbus until early May.

Speaking of cleanups, the 20th annual South Central Hilltop Spring Cleanup/Pizza Party will be held April 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Burroughs Park behind John Burroughs Elementary 

April is Earth Month in Bexley. Green Bexley has organized talks, litter cleanups, and tours of local recycling facilities and landfills throughout the month.  

Roll up your sleeves and plant some trees at Big Walnut Park, 1826 Lattimer Dr., on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Organizers are the Women's Council of Realtors in Columbus and Columbus' Recreation  

Celebrate Earth Day by getting creative. The Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W Whittier St., is holding a sip and paint on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $40 and the deadline to register is 11:59 p.m.  

Isn't Earth Day all about getting outside? On Friday from 2 to 4 p.m., Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks is holding a service day at Highbanks, 9466 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center.
