Created by April Blair, the American drama series starring Daniel Ezra is inspired by the life of Spencer Paysinger and immediately earned a devoted following back when it premiered on The CW in 2018.

Season 3 was arguably the biggest and most explosive yet, and perhaps it wouldn’t have been complete without that stunning cliffhanger.

It forced audiences to grapple with the possibility of Calesha “Bre-Z” Murray’s character leaving the show in a horrific fashion. Thanks to that, the wait between seasons this time around felt somewhat excruciating.

Essentially, audiences were led to believe it could be the end of her in the season 3 finale, but now we finally have the answers at long last. So, let’s dive into what happened to her.

In the aforementioned finale, she became entangled in a confrontation with Mo as a result of her part in killing her brother.

Inevitably, Mo sought revenge and we closed out the season on a shot of Coop bleeding with Mo laying dead on the ground.

The latest season kicked things off without addressing the bombshell, although the mood of the characters rightfully led audiences to believe that Coop must have survived.

After the shooting she was rushed into surgery and remained in a coma, only waking up to dish out the details of the disaster a few days later.
