David McCallum has been part of NCIS from the very beginning, and here's his personal favorite episode. NCIS debuted in 2003

The episodes "Ice Queen" and "Meltdown" first introduced Mark Harmon's - who almost replaced Don Johnson on Miami Vice - Gibbs and his dedicated team of agents.

This includes David McCallum as Dr. Donald Mallard, AKA "Ducky." McCallum was already a TV icon long before NCIS, having appeared in the '60s spy series The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

the "corpse" he was speaking with was a Navy lieutenant named Roy (Matthew Marsden), who was dying instead of dead and was amused by his odd banter.

NCIS' "My Other Left Foot" sees the team investigate the discovery of a Marine's severed leg. Overall, it's a solid episode but it's rarely considered one of the show's best either

While McCallum doesn't expand on it, he's likely fond of this episode as it helped cement the show's use of dark humor, in addition to establishing Ducky's character.

Ducky's quirks became a big part of his appeal on NCIS, and David McCallum's "My Other Left Foot" helped to underline his personality.

While the star hasn't stepped away from the series, his appearances have been limited since NCIS season 16.
