An epic new piece of Stranger Things season 4 art imagines Eddie Munson ruling (and rocking) Vecna’s lair in the style of Conan the Barbarian.

An epic new piece of Stranger Things season 4 art sees Eddie ruling Vecna’s Lair, guitar in hand. First airing on Netflix in 2016, Stranger Things quickly became a massive hit, telling the story of a group of youngsters in the 1980s who uncover a portal to another dimension in the heart of a mysterious government research facility. Stranger Things most recently aired the first part of its two-part penultimate season, seeing the return of fan-favorite characters like Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Hopper (David Harbour), and introducing a few newcomers as well.
Among the handful of new characters is Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), the anarchist leader of the Dungeons & Dragons Hellfire club and lead guitarist in Corroded Coffin, his band. After becoming a fan favorite due to his rebellious attitude, Eddie finds himself wanted by the authorities for Chrissy’s (Grace Van Dien) murder, for which Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) is actually responsible. Stranger Things season 4 episode 7 saw the character escape from the Upside Down and reunite with his friends, but trailers for the remaining episodes of the show tease that Eddie will play a bigger role in episodes to come.
In a new piece of art from the Stranger Things 4 fan account on Twitter, Eddie is depicted ruling what appears to be Vecna’s Mind Lair. The red sky and the Creel house in the background are reminiscent of the way the villain’s lair is depicted in the show, albeit with clear artistic nods to 1980s hits like Conan the Barbarian and Masters of the Universe. The art features Eddie with a “rock ‘n’ roll” hand gesture held high as lightning strikes behind him and the Devil’s head sits at his feet. Check out the epic fan art below:
Initially teased back in the first Stranger Things season 4 trailers and shown again in the more recent ones for the last two episodes of the season, Eddie will be picking up the guitar and rocking out at some point before the season is over. The trailer shows the character playing atop what appears to be his mobile home in the Upside Down as red lightning strikes behind him, a scene that looks to be at least part of the inspiration behind the impressive fan art. While the context of the scene is not yet clear, many fans are evidently already excited to see Eddie fighting back against Vecna in a characteristically awesome way.
One of the reasons why Stranger Things is so popular is the clear inspiration it draws from hit movies from the 1980s. The retro atmosphere of the show also allows for the creation of some truly creative fan art, such as the epic He-Man-inspired Eddie art above. It remains to be seen how prominently Eddie will feature in the final episodes of Stranger Things season 4 and Eleven’s ultimate fight against Vecna, but, at the very least, it’s looking like fans will finally get to see Quinn’s character rocking out on the guitar.
